“Chemistry. Is You touching my armand itsetting fire to my mind.”
-flood, Nayyirah Waheed
What I enjoy about this piece is the play on the word chemistry. This *feels right; like it can be pictured while still remaining some kind of abstract and metaphorical notion of that ephemeral click two partners feel when it’s just right. Well done.
Would you mind if I reblog this?
no problem! its credited at the bottom!:)
My apologies… I missed the credit at the bottom of the piece (slow moment). Still, a very awesome rendering from this Nayyirah Waheed.

This piece… A must read.
what i love about this poem is that you didn’t make it sexual – not that i have a problem with sex lol – its just that true chemistry – true connection that stands the test of time (and the loss of ones good looks) is always to do with the mind!!
I didn’t write it! I wish I did! but the writer is at the bottom:) the thing I love about it is that even though we live in a world of science and fact and technology, something like a soft touch from someone can make you shudder, or make your mind go crazy even though is completely illogical and irrational and you can’t see connection you can only feel it. I think that falling for someone doesn’t make sense if you feel completely rational about it:) sorry, i went a bit off track there haha I guess what I’m trying to say is that I love it because it isn’t about sex (I’m not after sex) and its all about a connection that doesn’t make sense, and I totally agree with you, true connection and people who are willing to make it work are the relationships that seem to work out
