Sweeten my death a little bit please

by remembertoexhale

The torture is over
death is arriving soon
won’t you come lay
your warm hands over my heart
once more
just a little bit of warmth
before everything turns into inky darkness
and I don’t have to feel any more
hold this dying organ in your hands
what has been done to it
can’t be undone
make it comfortable
drip a little warmth into
the veins and and arteries and ventricles
that only have enough strength
to keep lub dubbing
the faintest blood of life
let my lungs breath in your whispers
paint paths of warmth on the insides of my palms
don’t let me look into your eyes
I don’t want to see another future
without you
